From Midges to Mountain Views

All in all, we slept pretty well. Lots of turning on the mat to avoid sore spots, but we wake up feeling rested. We put on some hot water for tea, and then a cloud of midges comes drifting in 😮‍💨. Not great, because apparently I, Gos, am today’s main course 😒.

There’s nothing else for it but to fully cover up with clothing and pull a mesh over your head — but those little beasts are so fast they’re already on the inside of the net. In other words: I’m completely eaten alive.

I stand by it: mosquitoes — or midges — are the worst invention ever. Good for birds? Well no, because there don’t seem to be any of those around either.

And once we reach the top… the descent begins. Huge boulders, like a wild staircase winding its way between the hills. We jump, step, laugh — this is what we came for.

Rough paths, grand views, and the feeling that we’re truly on our way.

Yes, we did it! And now we’re sitting comfortably at St Mocha Coffee Shop, with toasties, tea, and cappuccino in front of us. No step counting for a bit — just enjoying the moment. We earned this — this feels absolutely right 😄.

We walk into a restaurant and decide to really treat ourselves. We go for vegetarian burgers and a fresh salmon salad — a perfect combination.
